IMMUNIZATION REQUIREMENTS AND FLU SHOTS

Angie Allmer, RN
School Nurse
Central Valley Health

The North Dakota State law requires that 7th grade students receive the Menactra (meningitis) and Tdap (Tetanus, Diphtheria and Aceluar Pertussis) immunizations prior to entering this year of their education. If your child has received these immunizations please send a record of that to the school office. If your child has not received these immunizations, they must be immunized and written proof of immunization provided to the school office prior to the beginning of the school year. You may go to your private clinic or to Central Valley Health District for these immunizations.

Watch for advertisements in the newspaper, and on the radio for special clinic dates at Central Valley Health Unit. Central Valley Health will file with insurance companies for those covered by BC/BS. No one will be denied immunizations due to inability to pay. Please make the necessary arrangements to complete these immunization requirements to ensure that your child is adequately immunized and to be in compliance with ND State Law.

Central Valley Health will again be offering flu shots in school this fall to both students and staff. An exact date when flu clinics will be held has not yet been determined due to uncertain availability of flu serum; JMS families will be notified when specifics are available.
