Capital Projects Plan Overview

On September 24, 2019, the Jamestown School District will be holding an election to request levy authority to increase the maximum building fund amount from 10 mills to 20 mills. If approved, the board would need to determine each year how many mills, between 0-20, would be necessary to address the district's facility needs.

Over the next few weeks, the district will be providing information on a number of topics to help educate patrons on the project and how the district envisions prioritizing any additional funding to upgrade/update facilities. The purpose of this update is an overview of the district's Capital Projects Plan.

Much of the district's facility needs are represented in Capital Projects Plan (CPP). The CPP was created as a planning document to prioritize and cost out facility needs across the district between 2016-2025. The CPP outlines $21,634,095, or $2.16 million annually, in needs across seven schedules: Asbestos Abatement, Building Repairs, Sites, Roofs, ADA Remodeling, Security and Safety, and Equipment. Future updates will include details of each district building in terms of cost and general anticipated projects. The vast majority of these needs are in building Repairs, $13.1 million and Roofs, $5.5 million.
