Welcome to Louis L'Amour

Dear Parents, Guardians, and Community:

On behalf of the staff at Louis L’Amour Elementary School, I am happy to welcome you to the 2023-2024 school year! We are looking forward to a productive partnership with you to ensure your child stays healthy while achieving their highest potential. We recognize that in order to achieve excellence the staff will focus on the mental health and well-being of our students. We know a strong partnership with you will make a great difference in your child’s education and health. As partners, we share the responsibility for your child’s success and health and want you to know that we will do our very best to carry out our responsibilities. We ask that you guide and support your child’s learning and health by ensuring that he/she:

Attends school daily ready for the day’s learning experience

Reads daily to develop a love for reading and to improve literacy skills

Shares school experiences with you so that you are aware of his/her school life

We believe in consistent communication with families and the community, with this in mind we hope that you find our website helpful and informative. As part of bringing a positive school culture to Louis L’Amour, we are enthusiastic about creating a transparent learning environment for all stakeholders through the use of social media. In addition to our Facebook page, we have developed a Twitter hashtag-#LLAsucceeds. I firmly believe that our job as educators is to elevate student voices, and social media platforms are great tools to do so. Also, please feel free to review the Louis L’Amour Parent Handbook and the JPS Health and Safety Plan, which can be accessed on the JPS website.

If you have any questions about our guidance and expectations, please feel free to contact me or discuss them with your child’s teacher. It is very important that you and your child are fully informed regarding standards related to their health and appropriate behavior for a safe and productive school year.

Sincerely,

Eddy Delzer, Principal
