James River Special Education Cooperative Announcement
Wayne Leben has been named the North Dakota School Psychologist of the Year from the North Dakota Association of School Psychologists (NDASP). Wayne has been a school psychologist for over 28 years with 19 of those years with the James River Special Education Cooperative. Wayne has worked in various districts and buildings throughout the cooperative.
His colleagues have this to say about him:
- “There is not a more caring, knowledgeable person to work with students of all ages. He has built relationships based on trust, understanding and high expectations that have stood the test of time.”
- “He (Wayne) brings to each meeting a wealth of knowledge and experience. He is collaborative and seeks to do what is best for students. He goes above and beyond each day, often arriving at schools to check on students who may have a tough night and notifying staff if the student may need more supports on that particular day.”
- “The most admirable trait about Mr. Leben for me is his ability to articulate his findings from assessments to parents. He will use “parent- friendly” terms and scenarios to help explain the results.”
Congratulations Wayne. A well-deserved and long awaited honor.
