As we start our school year, there are a few health related items to bring to your attention:
- Please review your child’s immunization records to insure that he/she is up to date. If you do not have a current record of your child’s immunizations, please contact your clinic or Central Valley Health District. There are immunization requirements for students entering Kindergarten and Middle School.
- Central Valley Health will be offering school based flu clinics at all schools in Stutsman and Logan counties this fall. By having a flu shot, your child will have increased protection against influenza and also lessen the chance of spreading the “flu bug” to others. There will be more information on these clinics as the schedule develops.
- Central Valley Health will be providing various vision screenings at the beginning of the school year for children in kindergarten, first, second, third, and fifth grades.
- We strongly recommend that children entering kindergarten be seen by their physician, eye doctor and dentist prior to beginning the school year. If you have a student participating in sports activities, a physical exam is required prior to the start of practice.
